Business Association met Monday, March 5th

March 13th, 2007

Thank you to all of you who attended the first Windom Business Association meeting OR expressed interest in attending the next one! We discussed a lot last Monday, and are planning the next WBA meeting. Please see the attached notes to get the scoop on the discussion.
As you can see from the notes, we are thinking about doing a casual, social hour to get to know some of the business owners in the community in late April, early May. Stay tuned to hear more about the next event.

Tots Rock 2007

Tots Rock 2007
By, Jessica Docken

March 31st, 2007 marked the first annual Tots Rock dance party for kids ages six months to seven years at the Windom South Community Center. A collaboration of the Windom Community Council and the Parks and Recreation department, the party drew over 125 families out on a rain-drenched day. With live DJ’s, bubbles over the dance floor, lights strung from basketball hoop to basketball hoop, it was a child’s dance party paradise.

Black Sheep Baby clothes generously supplied blow up guitars for kids to rock out with and rub on tattoos for added style. Kari Imideke from About Hair Studio painted lots of little fingernails, braided hair and supplied the sparkles for these little rock stars. As a part of her photo documentary project in the Windom South neighborhood, Dawn Vogel took pictures at the event. Parent Connection, a local resource for parents attended as well. Snacks and water were generously donated from Cub and Bobby & Steve’s allowing the entry fee to remain low at $3.00 per child over one year of age. Numerous volunteers helped to pull off this fun event. Thank you to all of the families who came out. Stay tuned for information on Tots Rock 2008!
