October 23rd, 2007
There were two incidents that occurred; Oct 2 at 9:20pm by Diamond Lake Rd and Pillsbury Av S and Oct 9 at 8:45 pm at 55th St W and Pleasant Av S. In both cases, 2 or 3 black males (approximate age range 17-24) approached individuals leaving area businesses; in one the suspects demanded money from the victims at gunpoint, in the other a gun was implied but never seen. The victims were not injured in either case. The cases are under investigation so legally at the moment I can’t say much more.
However, that area has been a focus zone for police officers. There have been no similar reported incidents in that area since the 9th.
