Recently, the Minneapolis City Council approved a new street resurfacing program, and two of the streets that have been chosen for this program are Nicollet Ave, from 58th Street to 61st Street, and 60th Street East, from Nicollet Avenue to Chicago Avenue. The City’s resurfacing process consists of two steps: milling, or removing, existing pavement from the edges of the street and then placing new asphalt across the whole street. It will provide a fresh new driving surface for our city’s residents, workers, and visitors. The funding for this program will come from municipal state aid, the general fund, and assessments.
There will be both a pre-public hearing and public hearing associated with these projects, to be held later in April. The pre-public hearing for the resurfacing projects will be at Richfield Lutheran Church, 8 W 60th St, on April 17, at 6:30.
